Fruit Printing

Using the story of Handa's Surprise as inspiration, we made prints of real fruits to fill up an empty fruit basket. It was really messy and really fun.

Don't our fruit baskets look great?

Handa's Surprise

We have been talking a lot about food this month. We read the story of Handa's Surprise. The story is set in Africa and has lots of yummy fruits and interesting animals in it!

We made a character profile with words to describe the main character, Handa.

We sequenced the story and retold it in our own words.

We pretended to be Handa's friend, Akeyo.
We wrote letters to Handa to say thank you for her present of a basket of tasty fruit.
