Green Fingers in Room 14

Now that it is Springtime we have been busy planting in Room 14.
We learned that plants need lots of things to grow. They need air, light, water, warmth and food (from the soil).

First we went out into our lovely school garden to plant some peas.

Every class has their own patch, so we used this map to help us find ours.

We each got to plant our own pea. John helped us (thanks John). We can't wait to care for them and watch them grow.

When we went back inside we each planted another pea seed. This time we planted them in pots so that we can take them home . Hurray.

Finally, we planted some seeds that came all the way from Delhi in India. Scoil Mhuire sent some seeds to Presentation Convent School in Delhi and they sent us back lots of seeds in return.

First class planted Gourd in window boxes. Gourd is a vegetable and when it is grown it looks like this.

We also planted some mustard seeds in our window box. Mustard seeds are where the mustard that we eat comes from. The plants have lovely yellow flowers.

We really hope our seeds from India grow.
